Our commitment at Essential Ayurveda retreats is to provide you with a uniquely healing experience. We design our retreats to be an oasis of calm and renewal and the Ayurvedic lifestyle coaching equips you with tools for healthy living on your return home. Our retreats cater for a maximum of two clients at a time so you can be assured of our personal attention during your stay with us.

Our Ayurvedic retreats are conceived from our experiences and studies in India both as apprentices to Ayurvedic doctors and as recipients of this complete system of healing. Andrew and Laura Shakeshaft created Essential Ayurveda Retreats and will take you through your program personally. They have studied in India working in Ayurvedic medical facilities and completed a 4-year degree in Ayurvedic medicine at Middlesex University.

 

The combination of their knowledge of traditional Ayurveda and experience in applying Ayurveda to their own and their patient lives ensures a uniquely personal and life enhancing experience. They are assisted by Panchakarma therapists who share their enthusiasm for Ayurveda and are dedicated to providing sensitive and excellent care.

Co-founder of Essential Ayurveda she is committed to increasing awareness of Ayurveda as a way of life and medicine. She is particularly interested in Ayurvedic management of conception and pregnancy and the care and treatment of children.

Your Ayurvedic consultation begins with a detailed discussion about your past and present health. You will be asked about different aspects of your health such as your diet, digestion, sleep patterns, energy levels, seasonal health variations, lifestyle, emotional happiness and spiritual life.

An Ayurvedic consultation is beneficial whether you have present health concerns or simply wish to maintain good health by adhering to simple Ayurvedic principles. Consultations are available in conjunction with the other treatments or separately

FOOD:

Our delicious Ayurvedic meals will inspire as you learn how to cook tasty Ayurvedic food and feel great from this healthy diet. Your Ayurvedic diet during your program is freshly prepared, tasty and satisfying. You will start the day with a fresh juice or stewed fruit to promote detoxification and boost digestion. Lunch and dinner consist of a variety of vegetarian dishes cooked according to Ayurvedic principles using tasty digestive spices.
