Sleeping Disorders

Insomnia is a sleep disorder suffered by 1 in 3 people where falling and/or staying asleep is a struggle. This sleep-depriving condition can stay with you from one night to a few weeks, and if it gets worse, it will bother you for months. If not cured, lack of sleep can affect your memory, performance at work or school, give you daytime sleepiness, anxiety, and depression. Moreover, long-term conditions will cause you gastrointestinal problems, heart and respiratory disorders.

Eating late in the evening and having poor sleeping habits can cause the patient to sleep much later than usual. Work schedules that require the patient to work very late, wake up very early, or frequently change shifts will disrupt the sleeping patterns. Moreover, as fun as it may sound, travelling across different countries with different time zones that causes jet lag will confuse the body clock too.

  • Waking up in the middle of sleep
  • Waking up earlier than expected
  • Daytime sleepiness and tiredness
  • Forgetfulness
  • Lack of focus
