It is known as Hamsodaka also because this is the type of purified water which Swans (Hamsa) enjoy.Usually this type of water gets naturally in the month of Sharada. In this month by the action of Sun and moon rays and detoxifying effect of Agatsya Nakshatra , water gets purified. :
